1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
2. Lō is not a law firm and does not give legal advice
Lō is a legal information service. Si, our AI assistant, explains laws, notices, judgments and documents in general terms to help you understand them.
- Si's output is not legal advice and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed advocate who knows the facts of your case.
- Using Lō, including Si, does not create an advocate–client relationship between you and Lō Technologies Private Limited.
- AI output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, including about deadlines, sections and case law. Check anything important, and do not miss a limitation period or court date based only on Si's output.
- Translations into Indian languages are provided for convenience. Where there is a difference, the original document or the English text of the law prevails.
If your matter is urgent, involves your liberty or safety, or has a deadline, consult an advocate straight away. In an emergency, call 112.
3. Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. Keep your device and account secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at support@lo.example.com if you suspect unauthorised use. Information you give us must be accurate.
4. Your content
You own the questions, documents, recordings and other content you submit (“Your Content”). You give Lō Technologies Private Limited a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transcribe, translate and analyse Your Content solely to provide and secure the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm you have the right to upload Your Content, including any personal data of other people it contains, and that doing so does not breach any law, court order or duty of confidentiality.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any law, or plan, commit or conceal a crime;
- upload content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or that infringes anyone's privacy or intellectual property, or any content prohibited by Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021;
- impersonate any person, or forge or misrepresent documents;
- harass, threaten or abuse advocates or our staff;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malware, scrape the Service, or reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law;
- use Si's output to build a competing product.
6. Ready-to-File Drafts
Drafts are generated from templates and the information you enter. They are a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing a draft, making sure it is accurate and suits your situation, and for any stamp duty, registration, notarisation, court fees and filing requirements under the laws of your state. We recommend having important documents reviewed by an advocate before you sign, send or file them.
7. Advocates and consultations
- Advocates on Lō are independent professionals, not our employees or agents. They are solely responsible for the advice they give and for complying with the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.
- We take steps to verify advocates before listing them, but we do not guarantee the quality or outcome of any consultation and do not recommend or endorse any particular advocate.
- Advocate profiles are provided at the request of users looking for an advocate, as an information directory. They are not advertisements or solicitation by advocates.
- The advocate–client relationship, if any, is between you and the advocate. Raise complaints about professional conduct with us and, where appropriate, the relevant State Bar Council.
8. Fees, payments and refunds
Some features, including advocate consultations, are paid. Prices are shown in Indian Rupees before you pay, and include or add applicable taxes as stated. Consultations are charged per minute at the rate shown on the advocate's profile.
Payments are processed by third-party payment partners under their own terms. If a consultation fails because of a technical problem on our side, or the advocate does not join, you will not be charged for that time, or we will refund it to your original payment method within 7 working days of confirming the issue. For other refund requests, contact support@lo.example.com within 7 days of the charge.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to their refund policies.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Lō name and logo, the App, its design, text, templates and software, belongs to Lō Technologies Private Limited or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own lawful purposes. Statutes and judgments themselves are public; our summaries and compilations of them are ours.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 that cannot be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, Lō Technologies Private Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on AI output or on advice given by an advocate. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹5,000, whichever is higher.
You agree to indemnify Lō Technologies Private Limited against claims by third parties arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms or of law.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; see Account Deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Apple App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and Lō Technologies Private Limited only, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App, its content, maintenance, support, or any claims relating to it. For iOS users, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must also comply with the applicable app store terms of service.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law, the courts at Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
15. Grievances and contact
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, our Grievance Officer will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.

16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the App. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
